About Us
Omega Scans is a free online manga and manhwa reading platform built by a team of passionate readers and translators who wanted one thing: a place where great stories are easy to find, fast to load, and free to read. We started as a small scanlation group and have grown into one of the more active independent reading platforms available today.
Everything on this site, from the translations to the image formatting and the platform itself, is the work of people who genuinely love the medium. We are not a corporate aggregator pulling content through automated pipelines. We are readers who also happen to translate, and that shapes everything about how we operate.
Why We Built Omega Scans
We built Omega Scans because we were frustrated with the same problems every manga reader runs into: sites that compress images until the artwork looks washed out, platforms that lock popular chapters behind a paywall, and translation teams that take weeks to release a chapter that was already published elsewhere.
We wanted to do better on all three counts. High-resolution images, no paywalls, and the fastest update schedule we could realistically maintain. That is still what drives every decision we make about the platform.
What We Stand For
Speed without cutting corners
We move fast on new chapters, but we do not rush translations to the point where meaning gets lost. Our team proofreads every release before it goes live, so you get chapters quickly and accurately. When a series we cover publishes a new chapter, our goal is to have it ready for you in the shortest time possible without compromising on quality.
Image quality as a standard, not a bonus
The artwork is half the experience in manga and manhwa. We keep our image files at high resolution and apply only the compression needed to make pages load quickly, not so much that panels lose their detail. Whether you are reading on a phone, a tablet, or a widescreen monitor, the images should look the way the artist intended.
Free and open to everyone
Reading on Omega Scans will always be free. We do not have premium tiers, chapter locks, or coin systems. You should be able to pick up any series on this site and read it from the first chapter to the latest one without hitting a wall. We fund the platform through advertising, and we keep the ad experience as unobtrusive as we can manage.
What We Cover
Our library covers manga, manhwa, and manhua across a wide range of genres. We have a particular strength in manhwa, including action, fantasy, romance, system, regression, and isekai titles that are harder to find on larger platforms focused primarily on Japanese manga. We add new series regularly and prioritize titles that do not have reliable coverage elsewhere.
Both ongoing and completed series are in the library. Completed titles are fully available so you can read at your own pace. Ongoing series are updated as new chapters are released, and the recently updated section on the homepage reflects additions throughout the day.
Our Team
Omega Scans is run by a distributed team of translators, editors, typesetters, and proofreaders. Most of us found our way here because we were already reading scanlations and wanted to contribute to something better. We are spread across different time zones, which is part of why our update coverage runs around the clock.
We take accuracy seriously. Translators work from the original Korean, Japanese, or Chinese source material, and every chapter goes through at least one round of editing before publication. If you ever spot a translation error or a formatting issue, our contact page is the quickest way to flag it.
